These innovations create a lot of interesting projects which you can support together with us.
Circular economy for Prague
We are all aware of the impact of greenhouse gases and the large amounts of waste. But rather than looking around for possible culprits, we asked ourselves what we can do about it and how we can help Prague. We offer a possible solution!
Circular Prague 2030 Strategy
The most important thing is to set out a goal. That is why, within the framework of its strategy for a cleaner Prague, the city has set itself the goal of reducing its environmental burden by up to half by 2030. And by 2050, it should be completely emission-free.
According to expert studies, up to 45% of global CO₂ emissions are linked to the production and consumption of the food, materials and products we use every day. And it is just the circular economy that can make a significant contribution to meeting these targets. With the involvement of business, research and development, it is also an opportunity for new types of products, services and jobs.
Prague joins other major cities such as Copenhagen, Helsinki, Ljubljana and Seville that also care about improving the environment.
We would like to become an innovation hub which promotes digitisation, the development and use of new technologies, materials and processes in the circular economy through appropriate strategies and pilot projects.

Veronika Doubnerová, Circular Prague 2030 Strategy Preparation CoordinatorThe circular economy is a comprehensive, cross-departmental topic based on communication and cooperation in the city. In this spirit, we led the preparation of the strategy, involving city actors, experts, representatives of the private, academic and civil sectors to bring their own suggestions and experience from practice.
