Artificial intelligence will be here with us more and more. But how will this translate into life in Prague in 10 or 20 years? What all will we be able to prevent and what all will we be able to make even easier?
We want to be a leader on the European stage
By joining forces with the prague.ai association, we can take Prague a step further in terms of AI involvement. The association has been working on a long-term basis to nurture new talents at various levels of education, while attracting promising international talents to the Prague innovation scene. This will lead to greater competitiveness of Czech companies internationally and support the creation and development of start-ups with a world-wide potential.
How artificial intelligence will help us
Basically, we use a number of tools every day. Thanks to artificial intelligence, we can have faster drug development, increasingly detailed space exploration or find the most convenient way from A to B. Nevertheless, its reach will be much wider.
For example, with the use of the AI, specialists can detect and predict water accidents with the utmost accuracy, monitor and coordinate current traffic jams, analyse and exploit big data, or manage power transmission grids. It will fundamentally help grow the economy and improve the quality of life in our country. It is, in short, a core area which needs proper attention.
We have a huge potential
Prague has all the key ingredients to become a major player in the field of artificial intelligence – established university specialisations and research groups, promising start-ups, experienced suppliers and global corporations, active communities or investors supporting bold ideas.
At the same time, students from our universities are referred to in international publications and prestigious journals, and their breakthrough results are improving the functionalities of Google Translate, Spotify or Alexa voice assistant. With the help of Czech experts, for example, Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX is learning how to land.
That is why we are mapping the Prague scene
For this reason, we are working together with prague.ai to map the Prague innovation landscape to best understand the needs, get to know the relevant players in the field and gain insight into the size of the local innovation ecosystem.
In the spring of 2022, the association presented the first study of its kind entitled “Mapping the Prague I Company Scene”, and made it available to experts, journalists and the public. You can find there 130 companies, 11 interviews and 9 business topics. You can read what a typical Prague AI company looks like and where Prague is heading in this respect.
