Jakub Bakule

Jakub Bakule is a political scientist by education and his professional focus is on the strategic development of culture. As the lead author for the Ministry of Culture, he prepared the State Cultural Policy 2021-2025+, which consistently deals, among other things, with the intersectoral overlap of culture. Besides, he is the lead author of the first national Strategy of Development and Support of Cultural and Creative Sectors, which for the first time systematically opened the topic of economic benefits of culture and creativity at the state-wide level, playing an important role for the transformation of the Czech Republic towards a more sustainable economy based on knowledge and skills.

On the basis of these documents, he subsequently developed, for the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the European Commission, the Cultural and Creative Sector Development component, which provides funding for key strategic areas of culture in the National Recovery Plan until 2025. In Prague, it focuses especially on interconnection of the individual actors, which is necessary to fully exploit the potential of culture for further development of the city.
